Hello! Hello! Hello!... to anyone who might be reading this, from Matt, Art, Trevor, and Jacob!
The first thing you should know about Radio The Ape is that we do not take ourselves seriously. We never have. After all, how can you when most of your band practices consist of 15 minutes of playing and 4 hours of Xbox 360?
Therefore, it was completely unexpected, and honestly pretty ironic, when through a family connection (Art being catholic=having a huge family, some of whom live in L.A.) we were offered a 40 minute set at the International Day of Peace festival on Santa Monica Pier September 20th. As if this weren't unbelievable enough, we found out that headlining the event might be (and these are simply the names that have been dropped since the offer) Sugar Ray, Katy Perry, Jack Johnson, and the Red Hot f*cking Chili Peppers?!?!?! Honestly, I think I speak for Art, Jacob, Trevor and myself when I say that If i found a genie in a bottle, one of my three wishes (after world peace and the ability to manipulate time) would be to simply ATTEND a Chili Peppers show, much less play at one.
Hold on a minute, I seem to be hyperventilating again.
I digress...they probably wont even be there anyway.
Anyway, the point of all this is that this opportunity that (admittedly unfairly) FELL into our laps is an incredible one, and we are all so humbled and thankful for what is bound to be an amazing experience and most certainly a lifelong memory. So in short, thank you to Vicki, Jolene, all of the members of the organization committee for the Day of Peace, and to you, the listener...all 6 of you. (Especially you, Tannum!) We promise to keep everyone updated on our trip...and promise you'll hear from us again soon.
One Love me Rastaaaaaaas!
Mattums
