So our album is finally done. We're super excited about that. Here are some details about it.

We began recording on March 11th, 2009. The first song we recorded was Cradle Baby and the last song was recorded on March 27th, 2009, which was Render Unto Caesar. All the songs were recorded live @ 1616, and we used minimal overdubs. The mixing and mastering was done by Chris Ploss at various places between Montreal and Ithaca, NY.

Now, it's available for you to download. Please download it, share it, and let it spread around the net. We're happy with the outcome, and gearing up for more. The incarnation of Fluxus that recorded this album is no longer together, but not to fret, we're still playing and recording more music.

The title of the album, Cargoes of Empire was the title of a poster from the Empire Marketing Board in the UK in 1929. The title represents, to us, the notion of empire in 2009, and mainly the place of Quebec (where the album was recorded) within this 'empire'. Quebec, is compartmentalized ... cargoed into this empire, in a post empirical global landscape. It's about being in that compartment and trying to get out.

We also want to thank Jeremy Paterson, for playing guitar on Eros, and Nicolas Vladimir Boisvert-Novak for speaking the sexiest of French for us on the track Cheval Blanc. Thank you so much guys.

So as we said, please download the album, and share it with your friends. Thank you so much. See you soon.
